Spencer's Baptism

I cannot believe our oldest is 8!!!!! Spencer turned 8 on January 11th. He wass originally suppose to have his baptism on February 2nd but we had to postpone it for a couple of months due to bad weather and the fact that the prophet of our church, President Gordon B. Hinkley's funeral was held that day.

So, here we are about two months later and Spencer's baptism was amazing. We had a lot of family come for Spencer's big day. His Uncle Dain Black spoke about baptism and I played a flute duet with my niece, Camille and accompanied by my sister Sarah on the piano(Camille's mom). The song we played was "Baptism". Spencer was no the only child to be baptized that day. His friend Jaxon Wilding was also baptized and his Grandfather spoke about the Holy Ghost. He did a wonderful job explaining to the boys how the Holy Ghost can be a guide in their lives and to always keep themselves worthy to have the Holy Ghost with them at all times.

The baptism and the confirmation were very special for me as a mother. I just still can't believe how the time has flown by. It seems like it was just yesterday that I was experiencing the fellings of becoming a mother for the very first time. Spencer is a very special Child of God. After Spencer was confirmed a member of the church he sat down beside me with big tears in his eyes. I asked him if he could feel the Holy Ghost? He could only nod yes as he continued to cry on my shoulder while his friend was being confirmed. Ryan and I love him so much and are so proud of the decision he has made to become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and to take upon him the name of Jesus Christ and make that important promise to keep His commandments and remember Him wherever he is or whatever he does from this time on. We love you Spencer!!!!!!

Love,

Mom amd Dad
